Starting from 20 January 2025

Scholarship awards will be offered by the ISD to assist deserving and suitable medical students, residents and rising stars from around the world to attend the Congress.

Applicants are required to submit an abstract for oral/poster presentation with their application.

Scholarship Application Deadline 1 October 2024.

Requirements for Scholarship Applicants:

  • Applications must be made in English.
  • Applicants must participate in at least one International Congress of Dermatology scientific activity such as an oral and/or a e-poster presentation.
  • Only the lead author of the abstract is eligible to apply for scholarship.
  • Abstracts for oral/poster presentations must be submitted online by 1 October, 2024.   
  • Young dermatologists must be under 35 years of age at the time of the meeting.
  • All scholarship applicants who are medical students and/or residents must submit verification of their educational status, such as a letter from the Department Head or Program Director
  • Applicants must not already be supported by industry sponsors. The committee reserves the right to rescind scholarships to awardees whose attendance are supported by industry.

Definition of Scholarship types

ICD Medical Student Scholarship
An applicant who is in training in dermatology as medical student at the time of the International Congress, June 2025.
Please attach a letter from the Department Head or Program Director.

ICD Resident Scholarship
An applicant who is in training in dermatology as a resident or fellow and under the age of 35 at the time of the International Congress, June 2025.
Please attach a letter from the Department Head or Program Director.

ICD Rising Star Scholarship
A dermatologist under the age of 40 at the time of the International Congress (18 June, 2025) and not at the rank of Full Professor.
Please attach a copy of your passport.

Criteria for Scholarship Award

Scholarships will be awarded based on merit and need. All abstracts will first be reviewed by the Scientific Committee. Those ranking highest will then scrutinized for need.
Consideration will be given to ensure gender parity and geographic parity for each continent when awarding the Scholarships.

The criteria for Scholarships awarded will be:

  1. Low Income Countries + Trainee
  2. Low Income + Rising Star
  3. Low Income
  4. Trainee
  5. Rising Star

Applicants notified of awarding scholarship will be requested to decline or accept by a defined deadline. Rejected scholarships will have the opportunity to be reassigned.
